Pizza in Prison

Just an average Tuesday in shop! Got to play in cell block 5D the Connecticut Juvenile Training School today with the freshmen from Prince Tech’s CJPS program and learn a little about what it is like in juvenile jail. We used it as an opportunity to take a deep dive into verbal deescalation techniques that we use in the trade to “win” arguments and break up fights before they happen. Acted out some deescalation scenarios and hopefully created an army of students that can help break up fights before they happen. Also had a tour of the grounds before more pizza than anyone could eat courtesy of Mr. Fuini and I. Fun day. Pretty great students who make teaching fun… don’t let it go to their heads 😜😂
