Impressive fingerprinting!

Today we had sophomores actually pull fingerprints from the INSIDE of a discarded, normal nitrile medical glove. We were certainly impressed. Nice job.

Some forensics fun

1/21/2021

Sophomores starting basic CSI (Scene processing) and juniors progressing through intermediate CSI (Lab work and chemicals)! We forgot music today.. doh!

What do you throw away?

1/20/2021

After spending a few days discussing safety, hazards, risks, and precautions we randomly picked up 4 bags of trash from a Connecticut apartment building dumpster. What do you throw away? This might make you think twice about your trash! In these four bags we were able to find out the following without any further research:
  • Full name
  • Date of birth
  • Prescriptions (Complete with primary care doctor, prescription numbers, and pharmacy)
  • Home address and also the address of their parents
  • Car (Make,model,color)
  • Recent hospital visit information
  • Names of two roommates or visitors from food receipts
  • Debit card info (Last four digits and bank name)
  • Hair, fingerprints, DNA
Next, as part of our intermediate forensics class we will be processing and evidence packaging to State Forensic Lab guidelines!
